Malocclusions and Your Smile

Posted .

Are you in need of any orthodontic treatment for malocclusions? Malocclusions, also known as bad bites, happen when teeth are in the wrong position or are misaligned. Fortunately, orthodontic alignment systems can be used to help treat a wide diversity of malocclusions, including the following:

Normally, malocclusions are often seen in the incisors, which are the teeth in the fronts of your mouth. These malocclusions include misplaced midlines, open bites, under bites, deep bites, and overbites. Like all malocclusions, treatment typically requires orthodontic aligners or some form of teeth straightener.

Malocclusions can exist in many different forms outside of your incisor teeth. If you have too many teeth, or overcrowded teeth, spacing malocclusions can occur. Large gaps between teeth are also extremely common. Another form of malocclusion that sometimes happens is called a transposition malocclusion, which refers to teeth that erupt above the gum line in your mouth in the wrong location.
